How and why did you decide to get the ATOP calculation software?
We wanted to find an up-to-date, easy-to-use calculation programme with which we could also process images.  We heard that ATOP-TIETO OY had revamped its programme and we wanted to acquaint ourselves further with the software.  When doing this, we realised how versatile and easy-to-use it is.   We wanted to start using the programme as soon as possible. 

How is work calculation organised?
Susanna Immonen and Anne-Marie Anttonen work as experts in the Palmia cleaning services.  Expert services of cleaning services include calculation of cleaning requirements, planning, training, work orientation, expert statements and work management.  Planners are responsible for calculation of cleaning requirements and planning as well as providing expert statements and selling services.  Immonen and Anttonen divide the calculation work based on new and existing customers.

Is calculation your main work task?
Our work comprises principally various calculations but we also engage in various contract amendments and other expert tasks.

What kinds of additional services do you provide?
We offer our customers calculation services with regard to cleaning requirements with the possibility of including a need survey of cleaning machinery, planning as well as start-up of a locality and training of staff in our own Centre of Expertise, Osake.   

We give expert opinions on, for example, construction planning and surface materials, as well as planning of cleaning centres and spaces.  In addition, we can give general advice of cleaning and conduct technical quality monitoring in buildings.  When needed, we can provide organisations lacking professional cleaning work management with these services as a purchased service. 

Which calculation software do you use? 
ATOPs calculation of work amount and cost with image-processing (CAD) software.

What are the best features of the ATOP software?       
The programme is easy-to-use and quick.  In addition, it allows making detailed calculations for various buildings as well as tailoring work tasks to be performed in spaces within the buildings.  The programme also allows copying similar projects as templates for a new project. 

What kinds of calculations are you currently working on? 
At the moment, we are working on a couple of multiservice buildings and a block of service flats.  There is also expert work for various bureaus.   In addition, we are working on checking calculations on already existing work localities.  

What results and benefits have you achieved with your latest calculations?
The main benefits have been the rapidity of the programme and the ability to copy projects.  Working instructions are very practical and easy to adapt.  The programme gives a realistic assessment of the time needed for work and this has been great help when reorganising work in older localities.

How comprehensively do you use blueprints and reports from the ATOP software?
(What reports for customers? Management? Employees?)
We use blueprints and work instructions as appendices in contracts.  In addition, we provide work management and employees with blueprints coloured with cleaning frequencies and area distribution.  Calculation results are printed for work management.   All the above-mentioned reports are also given to customers provided they have ordered calculation services.
